Sorry Meg - it was me. I just assumed that, as George Dean and Elizabeth Snape didn't marry until 1878, the birth for Mary Elizabeth would be this one -

Births Dec 1876
SNAPE Mary Elizabeth Salford 8d 35

On reflection though, we think that Henry Snape probably died in 1875 in Prestwich don't we? The death for Henry Snape in June 1878 in Preston that we first favoured gave a different fathers name to the one on the marriage cert.

p.s. There isn't really a birth that fits for a Mary Elizabeth Dean that would make her 4 in 1881 either.

Sorry missed that. Mary Elizabeth Dean is not a Dean, but a Snape.

Who found that?

Of course I believe you Dea. Can't believe what a coincidence though. I haven't heard it for years and only remembered it when I saw your word :))

I thought George was on the 1901 census with George and Grace.

How very very strange Christine2 - I was just listening to Radio4 and only 2 minutes ago a person on there used the word 'discombobulated' !!!

You can 'listen again' on the website if you don't believe me - How VERY strange !!! ???

I think the version I used was 'made up' by me !!

I can't find a marriage for Dore to an Agnes in Derbyshire though and I can't find a birth that fits for a John Samuel.
Why are this flippin family so difficult!!

p.s. I wish I'd saved my credits now - didn't know you had a subscription lol:))
