Hi I HAVE A THOMAS BATTY IN MY TREE BORN CHELSEA MIDDLESEX ABT 1816, HE IS THE FATHER OF MY GREAT GRANDMOTHER ELIZABETH ROAN, this is a mystery as on elizabeths birth cert it clearly identifies father as Thomas Roan and this is the surname of elizabeth on the certificate, on Elizabeths marriage cert she is identified as ROAN BATTY also from the 1861 census onwardsThomas starts to call himself Thomas Roan Batty ,his son Alexander also does the same and appears as Alexander R batty on all census. can anyone throw any light on this? sally

Did your Elizabeth Roan Batty marry an Isaac George in 1871, Warwick?

This is a very old thread, and Sally very possibly does not look on here any longer

and GR does not notify people that there are postings left on their threads


It would be far better to send her a pm (personal message)


Just click on her name, type your message and clcik on send


Then GR will send an email to say three is a pm waiting


Then all you can do is hope that she still has the same email address that is listed with GR
