Contacting Hot Matches

You may well find that another member, whilst researching their own family tree, has already done a lot of the hard work for your family tree. If you find a name that matches a relative on your tree it could be the same person or another relative you didn't know about.

You can contact the member who has added this information by filling in the box on the right hand side of the matches and then clicking on 'send message'. You can then send a message to see if they can help with any more details.

This will send a message to their registered email address informing them that you have contacted them. Your email will be stored in their inbox on Genes Reunited. They can then log in and read your message and send you a reply.

By sending an email you will automatically update your own and the other member’s 'Messages' page.

Wherever possible we suggest that you try and carry out your own research on any information obtained from other members to verify the details.
