Hi Michelle,

Hope you can help me get over my personal brick wall. I am looking for any information on George Thomas Gill who married Sarah Ann Cartwright in September 1865. He wasborn around 1839 in (I think) Paddington. He had 4/5 children one of whom was my grandmother Sarah Ann Gill. If you could discover his parents names and where he was born and the date I would be extremely grateful. Keep up the good work. Thanks for your time. Regards Vivienne

Still checking the parents, but first thoughts are that John died. Trouble is there are a few possible deaths in that name between 1841-51.

I need a bit of time to work on this, so will post when i am sure.

Michelle --- that is interesting ..... the whole family is a mess --- I believe Elizabeth married as Louisa -- had a first child as Louisa -- then Samuel/ Lamuel and Martha as Eliza --

15-Dec-1811 Elizabeth Daughter of Philip Fox & Sarah -- Turners Puddle Dorset ----- Family search show the baptism as Eliza !

Either John married a Louisa -- then Eliza -- or Elizabeth was known as Louisa / Eliza ---- and I think that John and ""her"" were dead before 1861 --- I can find no trace of either Martha Henry --- ( You found Samuel ) perhaps they are all in another County Oxford Wilts

Irene

Funny i just found the Fox one also and was looking for the link, as i did not know Eliza's maiden name.

Wow what a mix up!! I also think John was dead between 1841-1851. I did rule out 1 of the deaths. Eliza now we have these other names, could be under them for a death.
Spelling was always a problem on the census records as well as the baptism/marriage records.

Would you like me to look for more on Martha?

Michelle :)

Renes Report 9 Jan 2012 23:13

Yes please and any thing on Henry

I think the odds of a John Horlock marrying two Fox girls -- Louisa first - them Eliza - having one child with Louisa and then two with Eliza --

and where was Samuel/Lemuel in 1861

Many Many thanks

Think this is Martha

It's a massive record so only showing top part. Husband as Richard Telford. And yet AGAIN the marriage is misspelt. This time for her groom.
