The recent help you gave me does fit the gaps in my tree.
I now have joseph's wife Alice as as Alice Storey b1820

Somehow I have Joseph's father as William, but I don't recall where I got that

I would send off for the marriage certificate, I have had a look and there are 100's of Joseph's with a father William but none with the right birth area.

I think Joseph's wife Alice Storey was from Shotley Bridge Kirsty, they may have married there ? It's about 16 miles from Newcastle
Or that may have been his mother Mary Scott. (excuse me)
