Hi grumpy, found out that Thomas and Christina marraige in St martines is St Martines in Scotland. I now have all Christinas brothers and sisters and mother but not her father, he was not on the cencas. So i have got a little futher but not finding the true age of Thomas is still a puzzle to me.

Hi everyone, Maybe the 1st marriege is wrong but it still says on the certifacte of marriege to Jessie he was a widower and 31 in 1924 i still dont know if he was born 1893 or 1897, when there is no record of him born 14/02/1893 and all the records point to 1897 with parents that match what i was told, then again what i was told might be wrong.
To everyone thanks for helping me on this but its opened a can of worms and now i dont know what to think, but keep digging if you can someone might get some were. THANKS

Hi Grumpy, Thanks for getting back to me. Im stating to wounder if the paperwork i have is wrong. It came from my cousin and she got someone to look it up so i cant veryfy its truth.It started by looking for my fathers parents as he and his older brother were brought up in a childrens home. I have now a paper from the home saying his parents where Jessie Vernon and Thomas William Rhodes and a copy of his marriage certifacte dated 26/12/1924 at Lewisham that says he was 31years old, a widower, a stock brokers clerk and residing at Kings Head Seaford. Fathers name Thomas William Rhodes also a stock broker clerk. I have papers( typed copies) that says Thomas 1st married Christina Frazer Mackenzie June 1920 in St Martins. They had 2 children Ronald Mackenzie Rhodes b. 1921 d. 1941 in Singapore and Christine Gladys Rhodes b. 1923. Christina died in 1923 and then Thomas married Jessie in 1924. Jessie was born 1904 at Vernons stores, Bell Green. But never finding any thing about his parents who i was told was Thomas William and Beatrice Lillian i dont know what is correct.

Hi Diddydoris, this looks like the right family exsept that the date of birth is different from mine, i have a marrage certificate for Thomas junior that says on the 26/12/1924 when he married his 2nd wife, Jessie Vernon in Lewisham that he was 31 and i have some paper that say he was born on 14/02/1893 not 1897 as your report says, but with the right parents. So now i am confussed and am not sure if the paperwork i was given is correct.

Also I have another piece of paper that gives his birth as 14/02/1893 yet you found one that was born in 1897 with the same parents. I am so lost now and dont know which is correct.
