I think you definitely need to order one of the children's birth certificates to confirm her maiden name because it looks very likely that his mother was Mary Ridyard. |

unfortunately Bate is a popular name in Lowton and there are several births which could be children of Richard between 1908 & 1911 before mmn was added to the indices. |

A mistake many of us make. Don't assume that a child's middle name is mother's maiden name! T'aint necessarily so. |
