Hi Lorraine, I am looking for information on Gallaghers of Swin(e)ford, County Mayo, if you have time please.

In particular John Gallagher who was dead by the time his son Patrick married in Liverpool in 1889. Johns wife was possibly Bridget Conmy and there may be a link to Cornelius Gallagher. Other siblings to Patrick were possibly, Mary, Peter, Catherine and Ann, don't know if they remained in Ireland or not.

Many thanks in advance.

Best wishes

Church/Graveyard KILMEENA OLD
Description of Church/Graveyard This graveyard is situated about two miles east of the Westport to Newport road. The new church and graveyard are about 2-3 miles west of this site and have no pre 20th century memorials. However the latter have some fine modern Celtic crosses to the O’Malley family with symbols of the Crucifixion as well as the O’Malley coat of arms. This type of symbolism is otherwise unknown in this part of the county and while the symbols follow the traditional pattern found elsewhere in Ireland the inclusion of a saw is unusual.

Hi Lorraine

Hope I am not too late, but could you please look for William Varley he was born around 1841 and was dead by the time his son married in 1899, I think his wife was called Honor. His father was another William and his wife was Mary. They all came from Mayo. If you could find any of these it would be great. Thanks
Anne
