this is all brilliant .... I hadn't touched on this side at all really before today...though I knew that Whetman was my gt grandmothers name and she was connected to Budd family ... there is a story in the family of two Budd sisters who never married , the "two Budds that didn't blossom " lol

One fell in love with a sea captain which was fine but her sister fell in love with a waiter which was not considered suitable status ... so there was a big furore and the sea captain left...and the waiter was sent away I believe

Think you're right about the birth reg. This one should be Kingston 2a 215. It's a double transcription error. First when it was typed up on the image as Kingsbridge when it should have been Kingston, then transcribed by freebmd as 5b when it clearly says 2a.
