Do you actually have one of the birth certs? I agree, can't see a birth for her. It's an unusual name, just a few Sirrel/Sirells in the area so they might be related.
Maybe she was Scottish??

Hello to all
I have the birth certificates for the children
on one it is Sirrel and the other is Sirrell.

one child born 1950 and the other 1953 and an unusual surname
cannot put the name on as both children still living but I will answer by pm

I do have the fathers name as per certificates
but as the 2 boys are alive I cannot put their name

Had a look on Scotlandspeople - just to eliminate. There are only 2 Edith Walker births register between 1920 and 1930. One in 1921 with surname Brown and 1 in 1927 with surname Jamieson.

Yes PM crossed with my last posting have replied.

as far as I can gather the sons do not know anything about their mother
I suppose sending for her death certificate will give me the informant so that might give a clue as to who she was

wonder whether her mum was a Walker who later married Sirrell so she tagged the surname to hers

I,m wondering now re the birth posted for Edith Walker mmn Sedgefield reg district the same which seems a bit odd ??

Could be an error when registering OR mum was trying to cover she wasnt married

this one is well worth investigating
