i have but got no reply..there been no action on there for 6mths. on wedding cert, the bit with peters occupation is not on nor are witnesses...all i can see for witnesses is "the mark of john whit-? and the mark of catherine L and just under that is jass? or jars?" sorry i cant help any more than that...have just looked on the copies the lady sent me and that not complete,so it wasnt my printing error. i know, cos the lady printed out for me,that catherine was born 1836/37,married in 1861 and died with hepatitis and effusion on the brain 17th march 1868....wot i CANT find out is WHERE she was born,so that i can look for a baptism myself, then i wouldnt be a nuisance to the GR helpers. elaine.x

What was wrong with the baptism record of 15 Jan 1832 given?

1832 seems early?

Elaine, could you give the name of the child born when Catherine died?

This is Denis with his new wife 1871, if it helps to clarify.

Coming from a tree on Ancestry ....... maybe we could know what information there is actually evidence for, that doesn't come from a tree on Ancestry?

Trees on Ancestry are commonly not worth the bandwidth they take up.

i thought the same jax,and so did the other lady..maybe he met catherine thro her brother. it too early joy..sorry. janey, catherine had 4 children:-joseph,catherine(my gt gran),peter and ann,,,apparently she died a few days after ann was born. denis married bridget farrell in the july of same year(1868) and they went on to have more children. the husband of the lady who sent me document copies,is the gt g/son of margaret, the 2nd youngest of these children

I'm not going looking for family trees at Ancestry -- or at other threads. ;) All the info for *this* thread should be in this thread!

After asking and getting no answer, I've posted what seems to be the birth associated with the death of Catherine.

Ann, there wouldn't likely be transcriber error into the GRO index that would result in transposition of info from two different sources.

Well, here we go.

Yes, jax, we were typing at the same time ... after I posted the date and location of the child's birth ...

Could Peter actually have been Pierce?

[edited out the Pierce Rice family as I think I've spotted Peter, see below]

JaneyCanuck

JaneyCanuck Report 10 Apr 2011 23:33

But I meant to say -- I think jax may be quite right and Michael is the brother, and the family is from Ireland.

Oh -- mother Margaret in the 1861 (not 1871 as I misstyped at first) household I posted above was born in Ireland.

How about ...

1861

Name: Peter Rice
Age: 63
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1798
>> Relation: Night Watchmak (it says Watchman)
Where born: Dundalk, Leicestershire, England >> it says LEINSTER
Condition as to marriage:

Civil parish: Vessels
Town: Queen Dock Liverpool
County/Island: Lancashire

Registration district: Anglesey
Sub-registration district: Holyhead

A night watchman on a vessel would be away from home on census night!
