Thankyou for your reply.
I wonder fi you could look up Gertrude Alice Fowler 1886 on 1901 Census please.

I think maybe Arthur Holloway 1886 may have been born Nottinghamshire.

Wow I have manage to access Ancsetry Co Uk
With with my library card

And search the Family Trees It gives you information to keep you going

ArgyllGran Report 25 Mar 2021 11:06

But as I'm sure you've been advised before, remember not to assume that anything on someone else's tree is correct, unless they provide documentary proof.

Always check for yourself.

Lots of Ancestry tree owners have made wildly wrong assumptions.

ErikaH Report 25 Mar 2021 11:35

He would have gone around Railway Drivers' and Firemen's houses to wake them up in time to start their shift.

Ancestry's transcription of the 1939 record gives him a different DOB - but as there's a bit of tape across the date on the original document, I don't see how anyone can know what date was written:

Arthur Holloway
in the 1939 England and Wales Register
Name: Arthur Holloway
Gender: Male
Marital Status: Widowed
Birth Date: 6 May 1886
Residence Year: 1939
Address: 154
Residence Place: East Retford, Nottinghamshire, England
Occupation: Caller-Up Railway
Line Number: 33
Schedule Number: 132
Sub Schedule Number: 1
Enumeration District: ROHO
Borough: East Retford
Registration district: 426.1-41
Household Members Age
Arthur Holloway 53
Lily Holloway 26
This record is officially closed.
Edith A Holloway 12

Inverting the colours on the image does let the writing show.

It looks more like May to me .

If this is his birth, then it's May:
