But as I'm sure you've been advised before, remember not to assume that anything on someone else's tree is correct, unless they provide documentary proof.

Always check for yourself.

Lots of Ancestry tree owners have made wildly wrong assumptions.

Ancestry's transcription of the 1939 record gives him a different DOB - but as there's a bit of tape across the date on the original document, I don't see how anyone can know what date was written:
