Hi There

I'm hoping someone may be able to please help with a lookup on the 1920 USA Federal Census for EDWARDS Annie Belinda born c1867 in Newbury Berkshire England.

Also on the New York Passenger Lists 1820-1957 for EDWARDS Ada Mable born c1865 Newbury Berkshire England.

If it's possible could I please get a copy of the orginal emailed to me so I can add it to my tree.

Both these have been given to me as hints on Ancestry but I can't afford to upgrade my current subscription...really appreciate your help :-)

As far as Annie Belinda EDWARDS goes this is her maiden name and she disappeared from the UK Census after the 1891 census was taken. I thought she had married but receved a hint on Ancestry so thought I'd follow it up.

Ada Mable EDWARDS also disappears from the UK Census after the 1891 census was taken.and haven't been able to find any records for her in the UK until I received the hint on Ancestry.

Is there any way I could find out what the brothers name was that Ada and Kate were visiting in Brooklyn, New York as this may solve another mystery....two of their brothers I've been unable to locate, EDWARDS Harvey A. born c 1875 Newbury, England and EDWARDS Harry Aubrey born c1872 Newbury England so it could be one of them. Two oter brothers emigrated to New Zealand - EDWARDS Charlie Farr and EDWARDS Percival Spencer. The only other sibling I can't find is EDWARDS Emily Gray born c1868 and she also disappeared from the UK Census after the 1901 when she was staying or visiting her brother Harvey.

PS: Annie Belinda's year of birth is c1867 so I don't think the above records are for her so the hint on Ancestry is probably for another Annie Edwards as this is her maiden name. I did find a marriage for Annie Belinda EDWARDS to a William Richard Moore in 1895 but cannot locate them in the 1901 UK Census so another mystery.

Annoyingly it only says brother Mr Edwards 5616 3rd Avenue Brooklynon the manifesto, copy sent.

Hi Jax....She was known by different names in different census records, etc...either Belinda Annie or Annie Belinda and one had Belida Ann.

Hi Lindsey...Is there a census or electoral roll for Brooklyn New York for about the same time (c1905) as Ada and Katie were travelling to visit their brother...name would either be Harvey A Edwards or Harry Aubrey Edwards as I doubt whether Charlie Farr Edwards and Percival Spencer Edwards would have lived there before moving on to New Zealand....although perhaps they may have visited at some stage.

The original says going to brother Mr. Edwards but that name has been crossed out and what looks like IL has been wtitten beside brother (brother-in -law?) Also written is "Moore, discharged to brother IL,

Could it be that they went to visit the sister who was married to a Moore?

I see from your other thread that Kate Penicotte Edwards married Edward William Matthews in 1909 in England so it evidently was just a visit to America in 1905.

Firstly...a huge thank you to Lindsay for your extra help and look forward to receiving the copy you mentioned :-)

Also a huge thank you to Margee...YES!! I had a note in my family tree for Belinda Annie Edwards marrying a William Richard MOORE but couldn't find any records to verify this so I'm over the moon to confirm this and know where she ended up emigrating to. Am now going to go to find the Ellis Island website and have snoop. Is it possible for you to please email me copies of the US Census records you found for Belinda Moore and family. Also does the Ellis Island website show when Ada and Katie returned to England or is it only incoming to US?

Of the ones with no image on FS,1920 is the easiest one to find. Part of the FS lookup is:

Go to NY - you might reasonably guess the reel # is encoded in the final digits of the FHL film #
Then try image 152 - they're not there, but look up some name there, and see their

so clearly we need 3 images earlier viz 149 - as appears in the URL

Have tried to find Belinda and Richard Moore's sons birth registration as the dates for their immigration/marriage and sons birth don't collate.....did a quick search through Family Search but came up blank, is there anywhere else I can try?
