So if Herbert William was born in the last quarter of 1879, then the 'second' Alfred Henry Walter can't have been?

So it's now more likely some sort of mistake was made about recording Alfred's date of birth at the time of his 'second' baptism?

I have come to the same conclusion althogh I do not understand how he could give that address when they do not move their until c1906. They seemed to move a lot even after he came out of the army.

1891 he was at Thomas Place and
1901 Ernest street

Births Dec 1876 (>99%)
West Alfred Henry W Brentford 3a 45
[Hounslow would come under Brentford RD]

I think the baptism is either a misrecording or a mistranscription. I don't have the sub to check on the latter possibility.

There were no other Wests rego'ed 1876q4 in Brentford, so Alf isn't a surviving twin.

Births Sep 1878 (>99%)
West Henry Charles Elham 2a 973

Sim, no other Wests in Elham 1878q3
