Find Ancestors

Can anybody help me find the parents or family of William Henry Belcher.
He was a Railway clerk and Superintendant.
He was born in 1852 in Kentish Town, Poplar.
He married Mary Ann Deacon Power in Kensington on 19th Sept 1874.
His marriage certificate says that his Father was Henry William Belcher, but I cannot find any documents that match his name or his date of birth which I believe was probably 1801.
All of the family members lived in London around the Poplar and Westminster areas.

If it is the one above, the 1851 census gives his birthplace as St Bride's, Fleet Street and wife's as Amersham Bucks

Just had a very quick look for his baptism in St Brides. The only one I found was a Maria baptised 18 Aug 1811 to William & Sarah - maybe a sister.

Henry William James died 1874 (FreeBMD) and the estimated birth year is given as 1799. I'll have another look tomorrow when less tired.

I am still fighting with this "Threads" idea and not sure what I am doing!

My problem now is to identify the correct birth certificate info for William Henry Belcher b.1852 as I already have one which I believe to be incorrect where it showed his parents as William Belcher and Mary Collins.
Are you able to pinpoint the correct date of birth for him with Parents of Henry Belcher and Mary Jordan.
Then I will try and order a certificate.
William Henry Belcher married Mary Ann Deacon Power on 19th September 1874.
He was a raiway clerk and superintendant.
He was born in Kentish Town Poplar (I believe) .
He had two children - Leon Belcher whilst living in Acton and he also had William Francis Belcher b. 16.10.1888 in Plaistow, Essex.

I am also trying to establish a possible connection with the famous artist and Royal Academician George FA..Belcher.
He was born on 19.91875 in Marelebone and his parents were Joseph S.Belcher MD b.1834 in Marelebone and Ada (Ida) Jessie H. Blythe, b.1845 in St George in the East, Chelsea.
His parents were married in 1875 in Marelebone.
George F.A. Belcher RA married Joan Harvey.
George F.A. Belcher RA had 4 sisters - Clara, Clare, Caroline and Rose.
He died in 3.10.1947 in Chiddingfold.
His father Joseph resided at St Georges, Hanover Square in 1847, 58 Lewisham Hieghts Rd 1881 and Apsley House, Gloucester in 1891 .
I still cannot find any connection yet to William Henry Belcher b.1852.

This looks like the only birth that has his first names in the correct order and would be right for the birth date given on the Railway Records Vera found:-

Tp Mary Belcher (Widow) under £50

Its all beginning to look very interesting. It looks as if I can at last correct my family tree that I drew up years ago.
I have ordered a birth Certificate for William Henry Belcher which hopefully will confirm his parents and locations etc. It looks as if I shall be able to research further back after I receive it.

I see that Ginny has identified a potential will of Henry Belcher.
Where can I obtain copies of wills? Genes Reunited does not give access to any of the indexes - can such documents be obtained on-line?

I can see where and why I am having so much difficulty.
Genes Reunited does not have birth records prior to 1837 nor does it have Marriage records prior to 1837.

I can see now that Ancestry.co.uk has far more to offer. Can anyone see the benefits of Genes Reunited in preference to Ancestry .co.uk ?
