Just realised that Margert Elizabeth Kennedy would have been born in Crenard, Co. Cavan and not Granard Co. Longford because the family was in Cavan 1911 census April and she was born 20.11.1911.

Maura

Maura Report 29 Oct 2012 19:06

Its the only birth coming up for 1911, the family may have moved back to Longford before Margaret's birth.

I found on ulster covenant 1912 that joseph and sarah was both in Co Cavan and he was at Railway Cottage. I see you had found their marriage in 1901 may i ask which site as i cant find it on the UFH or Emerald or Ancestry Sites i am subscribed to. I would like to see the details of the marriage and possible Margarets birth. If its a site I am not maybe subscribed to then it maybe useful for me to become a member as were you found them details maybe were the rest of my ancestors are. Regards Sharonrose

I found there marriage on ancestry but its not coming up on any paying site, so you have to order the marriage cert, you can get a photo copy for about 5 euro from groireland.ie. Sarah may have return home close to her due date to have her baby.

Thank you. I have found the marriage for Margaret Kennedy to Joseph sayers but I cant find her parents in 1901. I know that her father was still married when he died at 68 years old but the brother Joseph was the informat and not the mother Sarah. I have looked for her death but cant find it and Ive rang the gro for a search but cant find it either but I know she was living when her husband had past away in june 1939 and her son was still at home

NO ER's for the WAR years

ER's don't, in any case, record marital status.

For that info, you need to look at BMD records

Hi Flick, this is were i am struggling because all i have tired to find her was information that she was abt 24 in 1936 and ived at eglantine avenue but i dont know when she left as the war happen. i dont know if she died doing the blitz. Ive been proni and cant find any marriages of margaret kennedy or showing her as a mother and if she did married i dont know name thats why i was hoping to see on electrol rolls if she has changed name. i know that in 1952 only the hicks lived there onwrds. On ambrose her son certificate it shows her name as margaret kennedy formerly rus?en?an florencecourt on 5th dec 1936. Do you know if during the war everyone had to have id cards if true where could i find this information please

Unlikely in the extreme that you would find records of employment in a private house

Was in Belfast over easter holidays at proni office and library and found out that Margaret kennedy was not at 80 Eglantine Avenue in 1946 so between 1940 and 1946 I think she may have got married or joined Army wrens forces as it was during the war period but i have been unable to get any further with finding this in the proni. Does anyone have a site i could search on free for marriages or maybe deaths during this period. I am told she was born 1912 as she was 24 yrs old in 1936. I just would like to get threw this brick wall and sort this bit of puzzle as i dont think she could disappear with no trace. I know she is in the records but running out of how to find her so i have narrowed it between 1940-46, Please can someone help me kindly to know what else i can search as im not to good at tracing people and i seem to go round the same records and searches. Thjank you all xx

Margaret Kennedy married Joseph Sayers 1945 and went to usa with their daughtter ivy sometime between 1950-1965 but I cant find them on them on the assenger list. Ive only found joseph and ivy travelling to uk in 1956/7 but not margaret but cant see them leaving uk again. Is there a reason for this????
