So I have a birth certificate for "a" Margaret...the parents match with the censuses I have found. But have to wait for marriage certificate to come before I can be sure it is the right Margaret (and they don't do pdfs of marriages) - watch this space!

HeyJudeB4Beatles Report 26 Mar 2018 19:16

Oh how I hate it when this happens......

So the marriage certificate came back and her father is Ebeneezer, a sawyer, not Thomas a sawyer.....although there is an illegible squiggle to the side...she was just 17 in December 1862 which fits with a birth in 1845..so can anyone find Ebeneezer with a daughter Margaret in 1851? I think she is a servant in 1861...

This is an article re Dinah's very sad death:

Reece (district coroner) held an inqueoet pI at the Cardiff Union on Monday touching thle death of an old woman, named Dinah Bevan, who was found wandering about on the Haves Bridge on the morning of the 2nd inst., and was taken to the workhouse, where ....................

I have copied it in full to 'my keepsafes' here:

Shr was a widow at that time so Ebenezer had obviously died between 1881 and 1888.

Dea - brilliant. The Trotts (Joseph and Hannah - presumably Margaret's sister) were the witnesses at the marriage! So that seals it I think!!!

I'll digest the rest at my leisure!
