Hi all

I was wondering if anyone can help me ascertain the name of the housekeeper living with:

Joseph Ablett
b. 1847 in St Ives
Living at 41 Dalberg Road, Brixton / Lambeth
in the 1881 Census

Her first name is legible and reads as Adelaide (born in Surrey / Lambeth) however I can not read or trace her by her surname. I have even tried Adelaide as a surname.

Can anyone help me please? I've really hit a brick wall with this one.

The First letter of her surname looks very like the R in Raynor at the top of the page. (Ellen Raynor)

Without meaning to sound cheeky ... you can't find a marriage for Joseph Pedley Ablett can you? By the Census records he married between 1881 and 1891, moved from Lambeth/Surrey to Greenwich in that time, and had 2 children (Sidney and Frederick).

Indeed it is GlitterBaby, but alas - no wife. I am struggling to trace marriage details and birth details for the sons (and death details for Frederick).

Met today with a distant relative (whom I met online whilst researching my Mums side of the family) and she has hit a brick wall with these areas too .... and there was me thinking that two heads would be better than one!! x

Having trouble finding the Riva family in 1861- I wonder if this could be why?

There are other Riva families in London, but there is a Giovanni A b 1852 and a death aged 13 in Lambeth 1866. He is not with immediate family in 1861.
