I am trying to find the Death of my Grandmother despite extensive searches on line no luck
Her name is Caroline (aka Carrie)Wilson nee Heathcote born whittington Staffs 21April 1891 she is the widow of Henry wilson. my gran was in Macclesfield when she passed about mid 1970's to late 1970,s the person reporting could have been her son in law Frederick White. no one in the family is still around that might Know so hence the request on here

Macclesfield is Cheshire but theres no deaths for that area in the 1970,s for her name

I can see her daughter married Frederick White in Manchester in 1952. Did they have any children do you know? There are a couple of White/Wilson births in Manchester after this, but of course the names are pretty common!

Still looking for a Death
I have noticed that the BMD records on here for Jan-March 1975 Macclesfield are missing.
However I did find a possibility on another BMD site but it is the correct year but the registered name is Catherine Wilson district macclesfield Cheshire East. Grans Nickname was Carrie but I remember my uncle fred getting told of because he put her wrong age and her nickname instead of Caroline, it looks like he was confused again ,
I also noticed there is no spouse listed on this cheshire BMD cert so I have not applied for it incase its the wrong one again gets expensive

PM from David to say that his grandfather died in 1951 aged 65 & his grandmother moved to Macclesfield to live with her daughter.
Have advised him that it´s best to answer queries on the thread so that all helpers have the info.

Have you tried contacting Macclesfield directly to ask for their advice?

Thanks for that my gran was living with her daughter in Macclesfield and my uncle registered her death hes passed and there is noone else with any info her proper name was caroline but he made an error and registered her with her nickname .

So if she was registered in another name it would have helped to tell us and what her nickname was Also if her birth was incorrect too then giving her actual birth wont help

The only way to find all the info on a death cert is to buy it. The only name on ANY death index is that of the deceased.

Hi Folks I have given her nickname in my earlier posts it was Carrie.
her correct dob is 21 April 1891, she was the widow of henry J wilson, her correct name is caroline, I have cousins around and about manchester but geography meant that we never met so I cannot ask them as I no not where they are and my cousins who are living abroad look to me for answers but this one is proving more difficult than looking for ancesters in the 15th century
Thankyou for the assistance you all are trying to give I have found the registry at Macclesfield not helpfull in giving certain information from the records that would prove one way or the other if I was onto the correct record

just searching on Carrie- Macclesfield brings us back to this one which is strange cos that-was her maiden name !!

you said her birth was wrongly given too on the death cert so this looks a strong possiblity

Sometime ago they started to put a married woman maiden name on a death cert too Not sure when but think my mums cert .she passed in 1980,has her maiden name on it.

Maybe Uncle thoroughly mucked it up and she was reg in her maiden name of Heathcote. It does look a strong possibility

Shirley yes I have that cert for the carrie you mentiontion I have to return it as it was not the one that carrie was married to a George Heathcote it was a close call but still maybe related all the heatcotes originate from Yoxhall so at some point may connect all the certs I have seen have married name and Maiden name on
