Think I got too excited too quick - the Robert on the 1881 Census can't be Emily and Ellen's dad as they were born 1857 and 1868 respectively - such a shame

I don't want to rain on your parade...but cannot find Robert after 1881.... as for Ellen and Emily....where are you????? Remember sometimes what is written on certificates may not be the truth.

OMG!!!! You are an absolute angel - I have never been able to find anything for Emily's family at all including her dad Robert and it looks as though you may have found him - the marriage certificate I have for Emily confirms her dad as a Bricklayer!!!

It is a very long mystery, one which I have been trying to research for ages, just wish I could get a birth certificate for her - it is the same with her sister Emily Ricketts (they married two brothers with the surname French) cannot find her birth either
