I have recently been researching my family history and find that my paternal grandfather, Noel Edwards, born 1879 in Brecon, was shown in the 1881 census as living at “The Cock and Horse Inn, 48 The Watton, Brecon”. Noel and his twin sister, Mabel, lived there with their widowed mother, Elizabeth (born 1848) and their brothers, Sidney, born 1874, David, born 1875, and sister, Margaret Elizabeth, born 1877. Their mother, Elizabeth, (my great-grandmother) was the widow of David James Edwards, an engine driver. She was the Innkeeper of the establishment. |

Dear Gins. Reggie told me off for posting my e-mail and telephone number. I have messaged him. All the info he gave me, I already had. I am looking for present-day descendants of my geat-granparents. |

There are 2 births for Muriel Edwards in Merthyr so you need to make sure you follow the correct one. |

Hi everybody helping. I've got all my family right back to 1845. I'm now looking for descendants of my great-grandmother. I've been all through hot matches etc and came on to this site to see if I could get better luck. I've been told off and had a posting removed. Good start then. I'LL PROBABLY QUIT GENES REUNITED AND SIGN UP WITH ANCESTRY UK WHO SEEM A MUCH FRIENDLIER BUNCH TO BE HONEST WITH YOU. |

Now come on Edward, I in particular did my utmost to help you - I messaged you immediately I saw your email address and phone number and I advised you to post on "Find Living Relatives" and to check in trees on this site - I cannot believe what you have written - I feel we were extremely friendly and caring towards you and am quite surprised by your posting - I hope you are more polite to people on Ancestry and may I add also, I feel quite ashamed that a fellow Welshman should act in such a manner |

Ann, you have been most helpful as have other people on this site although Reggie made me feel very small! (You probably did not see what he wrote). My gripe is with GR who don't seem to support me. All the people on here have been most helpful. Please do not take offence. I put my mobile phone number and my e-mail address in my posting. OK - so what? The world will not come to an end. GR seem to think I'm Jack the Ripper. If you can re-consider giving me some help, I should be most grateful. Same applies to Gins. Absolutely no offence intended, I am gratified that someone is interested in my quest. I am a most placid person, believe me. Nothing to do with being Welsh - just a laid-back individual trying to get along with life. |

By the way all people trying to help me, I can't post what Reggie so thoughtfully provided about my family, because GR have deleted the whole blinking lot. That is part of my gripe with them. There was a lot of info on there and it has now disappeared! How can it be that with such brilliant volunteer helpers they have such a rigid sense of discipline which negates the feelgood factor? They should be on my side - I'm paying for the service - I don't need to be slapped down for some tiny error. |

Part of that which was deleted was my advice to look at freebmd and find info about them |

Reggie, have you read my subsequent message to you re not knowing that you were an official helper? If I''ve done something wrong, I'll take the blame, but only from those who have the authority to censure me. I repeat : Advice is golden, (et seq). |
