The 1896 marriage for Harriet Pattison and John Jefferson shows her to be in her 20s and her father to be David Pattison but his occupation IS NOT TINSMITH. Hmmmm, I should probably order that certificate.

Peter have you tried searching this free site for bmd's?

That is great. Also, there were Pattison cousins living in Pontefract from the c. 1890s so that would fit also.

Thank you again. Could I ask for a death for Alfred Pattison (c. 1882, maybe easier finding where his wife Emma Lena Pattison died as she had an usual name) and James Pattison (born c. 1872). Is he not available 1901? I asked for him, but maybe he has been missed?

Thank you again for this help.

Wow you seem to have found them! I love GR for this reason! It is so helpful.

Thank you. Can you maybe see a death for Charles senior? I only ask as I hope that name is fairly uncommon.

On that note, I can't find a marriage for Charles and Ann?! Married c. 1900. I've tried Pattison, PattiNson and Patterson. What do you think?

Sorry Patchem but I don't know the answer to which children and surived and which ones died young. I can only account for 8 of the 12.

And no I don't have birth certificates for any of them.

Here is a possible marriage for Harriet but I really don't know:

As I said, the 1911 says 12 children to the marriage, 6 still living.
Therefore which ones are they?

Also, have you got a birth certificate for Alfred, as I cannot see a birth for him in Selby on free bmd?

Thanks

Peter

Peter Report 9 Oct 2012 22:57

Thanks Patchem ... I only suspect that the census Andrew posted could be wrong due to the birth location (which doesn't tally). But then, that wouldn't be the first time.

patchem Report 9 Oct 2012 22:46

Andrew posted a possible for David in 1901, do you believe this to be wrong?

Which one is David?
Births Sep 1880
PATTISON David George W Middlesbro' 9d 576
Births Mar 1882
Pattison David George W Middlesbro' 9d 558

6 children have died according to the 1911 census - so which ones are definitely still alive?

Peter

Peter Report 9 Oct 2012 21:50

Hi again,

Can someone look up the following two in the 1901?

Thank you

David Pattison, born 1881, Middlesbrough, Yorkshire
Alfred Pattison, born 1882, Selby, Yorkshire
