I have got the Robert's relatives and a considerable amount of information on them, which is quite fascinating.

I don't know where you got this from (amazing) but Robert and his wife went back to visit Scotland in 1903 (ships manifest) and persuaded this couple to come out with all their children to the USA (ships manifest) which they did the following year. However, she is listed as a widow in the 1910 census. When she came out first they were both listed as Nephew of Robert Low and were destined for "Brownwood, TXT". He was planning an ice cream factory there and would have a need for a master plumber. It was a great pity that he died in the "promised land".
Jemima is listed as Jemima Low before marriage. Lots of relatives at home which i have not investigated. However, the USA one's were more interesting as knowbody had known about the emigration of the Low brothers before the letters came to light.

This is an even bigger WOW - where did all that come from?

I will have to update my family tree with all this information now. Thanks.

There was another James born in 1851, I had a look at my census records and he was only 11 in the 1861 census so I am really confused now :-S

James Low was born in Forfar in June 1841 - I have his birth certificate for this from "ScotlandsPeople".

Absolutely amazing coincidence and the people there was a Jane Low and a Margret Low and James in the family too.

Jane Ann Low ms. Keith was my Great Grandmother.

Where did you get the info that he'd had a daughter in New Jersey?

It was through a letter that William sent back to his wife, but only that he (James) was marrying another Mary.

Robert - don't get too upset about your relatives hardship, I'm not sure that they're your relatives. See my last posts.

Wow, I sit looking at the computer screen thinking of the sadness that my relatives experienced in the new world.

William was lodged in a "beer store" in Chigaco while working for a meat factory (Libby's) in 1882.

Their mother died in 1884 in Forfar.

Robert - where have you got the information from about James' marriage and birth of daughter? Has it been verified?

I'm sure this is the James that is in the 1880 and whose family records have been posted but I'm guessing it 's his mother he's with and her name is Jane, whereas Robert states his James' mother was Isabella.

Also, this one in New Jersey is 10 years younger.
