My mother has some silver spoons that she believed belonged to a Lord Mayor of Birmingham I have looked at list of Mayors of Birmingham and Fouund the name John Bedford Burman (the surname of my mothers ggrandmother) so I am trying to find out how he fits in my tree but can not find abirth for him.He was an Mp in 1931 so thought he must have been born late 1800's early 1900's.Am I missing something obvious .Thanks for time in reading this and in anticipation of any help given .Edit was looking in Warwickshire

I did google name but all I could see was prtrait could not find names of parents which is what I am looking for to see how he ties in with the Burmans in my tree so thankyou Reggie I have seen his portrait but I can not glean from that who his parents are

BUT.........his year of BIRTH was listed...........so you could have at least worked on that!

Your original post gave no indication that you'd got the birth year info..................

And there is a whole lot more info on google.............as per the info posted by Stuart!

So, to answer your question...yes, I'm afraid you were missing something obvious..........lol!.

Thank you Reggie I was looking in wrong county as all the Burmans in my tree were born in Warwickshire ,still not sure where this fits into my tree but I may be looking at wrong mayor Jane Burman married an Edwin Turner and their daughter married a Perks so the Mayor could be through any of these families so I will digest these facts and see what connections I can make once again thanks for your help

Okay Reggie sorry if I have missed something obvious have recently had neurosurgery and sometimes get alittle confused ther was another Burman who was Mayoor of Birminghamthe son John Charles so I think I confused the two and was looking for wrong time and wrong place so sorry
