Elizabeth Collins born 1876, married Edward Collins approx 1898? in the 1901 census lived at 4 zinc st Manchester, 3 children eldest Emily aged 3 in 1901. Then in 1911 census Elizabeth dissapears Emily is 13 yrs youngest son is James is 2 but mother is not listed, we found an Elizabeth Collins aged 35 ( correct age of our liz) living with Samuel copping at 31 Bagot st Wavertree as a single boarder. is this the same elizabeth HELP!

In 1911 Edward is still listed as married and there is a gap on the form where his wife would have been listed. Maybe she was just away on the day of the census.

She might be in some kind of institution........ie Hospital?

Quite often, people in institutions were transcribed with just their initials.

There is always the possibility that she left her husband and pretended to be single.

Yes Prickles - that's the only one that I could find too BUT !!! - the parents there are John + ??

Shouldn't they be Edward + Elizabeth??? Or am I missing something here???

Edward in the 1901 is a Iron Foundry Labourer.

Must be the correct family though as everything else matches - even the 'boarder' !!

Perhaps he was 'John Edward' ??

According to the OP The first child born was Emily but the 1911 posted has an older child Mary Ellen

May be better if Sandra posts the full info she has for the 1901
