i am lookin to find the names of my great grandads family who are originally from the liverpool area my great grandad was called richard edward jones he was born on the 2nd october 1894 . i would apprieciate any help at all

On the 1901 census there are two Richard e Jones' and a Richard Ed Jones 1896/1893/1895
from West derby all stating born Liverpool

all we know is it is the liverpool area possibly bootle he was in the 1st ww im not sure if these numbers will mean anything ( T-29199 ) DVR ASC

quite possibly as it seems no name for mother or father and this is where we hit a brick all every time i think he had a sister but not 100 percent sure of that one

I would suggest you get his marriage cert to your grandmother if possible, to hopefully establish his father's name.

Tracey, you need to be a bit careful as the name is so common. It would be really easy to follow the wrong path.
I really think you should get his marriage cert.

if its the same one he married my gran her name was anne ryan or ryanford she came from motherwell in scotland i think they were married in or around 1926 1st born child was named anne born in october 1927

Do you know who your great grandad married please? As Jan says it would be best to get a marriage certificate.

i cant get the marriage certificate but he married anne ryan or (ryanford) in or around 1926 she was from motherwell in scotland

Why can't you get the cert? I can't see a marriage on the indexes.
Maybe you can tell us the name of the child born 1927 and where this was? That way we can hopefully check mother's maiden name.

Now ive looked to see if his Pension or Service records have survived which may have given more info where he served, alas it looks like his have not survived, but 70% of these records were destroyed in WW2, so not surprising.

Could have married in Scotland.

You could spend a fortune on certificates and be no nearer than now!!!

no this is looking good as my some of my grans family were called ryan some called for so we wasnt sure if it was ryan or not but now im thinking this could be right they didnt marry in scotland they married in england
