Hello all I am after information on either my Great,Great Grandmother Sarah Tamblyn born abt 1839 in perhaps Cornwall England,she married Abraham Turner who was born at Parracombe devon England thats about all I know.Please help

Ellen Nicholas 1854 married Stephen Ward born @ 1840 in France.
They had son Charles D (Douglas) Ward born 14/10/1877,he is the grandson? on 1891 census with the Shaw family.

Also William Nicholas bap 19/12/1858 to William and Sophia Nicholas nee Porter.

Sophia Porter married 17/10/1852 to William Nicholas.
She was a minor and he full age dad of Sophia was Joseph Porter and the witness's were Elizabeth Porter and Thomas Rich.Address Dudley street.

So would she have been older than stated on 1881 census!!

Was George lying about age to minimise the age gap?

Have you actually found a birth for Lily Sophia, I can't see one - nor a marriage for her parents shown on 1891 census - another mystery.

She married Mr Drury as a spinster and under her maiden name in 1902, so it is doubtful there ever was a marriage to William Branch, added to which there is no death registered for him 1901/2 (at least not England/Wales)

Added: To add even more confusion, George Henry Drury was a widow age 41 on the marriage certificate but on the 1911 census is shown as 34??

Just to let you all know that I have seen all your posts to me and every one of them is very much appreciated - Thank you so much for all your help.
It would seem that Lily Sophia did indeed marry a Mr. Branch! This piece of information being particularly helpful. Will go on searching for this marriage now.

To GlitterBaby...I know that the Branch children were Lily Sophia's because of speaking with my Nan and other members of family in the past. My Nan always referred to Rose as a step sister. I also remember seeing Rose when I was younger. Not ruling out skeletons in the closet of course! But thanks to everyone's input to my post, hopefully I'm nearer to what was what :-D
