Thanks for the info. I have tried sbout ten times to put in a message board name and nothing!! I think you are all right in that it might be easier to get a marriage certificate and see the father's name. There was only two children George and then Florence.

Thanks for all your help.

Regards

Di :-)

Do you know if they had any children after 1911? We can check the mother's maiden name on any possible birth entries.

might be best in this instance to purchase the marriage certificate.
At least then it will say if she was married before and you will get her fathers name too.
It will be easier to trace back from that. Like Glitter baby, I think the surname is of Irish origin.

If you go to account and personal details there's a box for you to enter a message board name - is that where you tried? Might be a glitch.

I think you really need to get a copy of the marriage certificate ....

Wow that was quick. Thank's for this. As you can see I new to this messaging and unsure as to how to get a profile name, have tried but it doesn't seem to be working. Unfortunately I have not got the Marriage Certificate. I only traced her through the 1911 cenus as the florence hardman was my grandmother who died before I was born!!

Oh hello - you haven't got a name! Welcome to the boards.

Is it possible she might have been previously married?

Strebor

Strebor Report 4 Apr 2013 21:42

I wonder if anybody can help! I have been trying to locate the parents of Elizabeth M Cryan. She married my great grandfather George Hardman in 1906 and died in 1947. I have traced her in the 1911 Census and when she married but nothing previously. When she died she was said to be 63. Can anyone shed some light plesase!!
