Could anyone help me find some information on my great-grandfather?

Despite having such a distinctive name, he has proved quite a difficult character to find any records on. Here's what we already know:

- He was from the Norfolk area.
- He was born c1880.
- He married Fanny Keymer (my great-grandmother) in 1904, but she died in 1909 when my grandfather (Gayford Seaman) was about 4 years old.

- We believe he then remarried, to a woman named Marjorie, though we can't find any marriage records on this. Possibly in 1909.
- We also believe that he served in the Navy, and may have obtained a reasonably high rank.
- The circumstances surrounding his death are mysterious and shrouded in rumour and I am particularly interested in finding out what happened to him. It is possible that he may have died at sea in c1942, ending his own life after sustaining a terrible injury.

Thank you for your help.
Michael.

Do you have the 1904 marriage cert as would be useful to know how he was when he married, his occupation and the name and occupation of his father

Thank you Glitter Berry and Astra :).

It's interesting to see that he used the name George, I wonder why?. My grandfather apparently never spoke much about him.

Unfortunately we have only so far been able to find a copy of his marriage record from 1904.

Thanks again.
