Can't find a baptism for Mary Ann with father James but wonder if she could be linked to this family and mother Elizabeth re-married.

The Bland family appear again in 1851 with father now named Nicholas but no Charlotte and Mary present.

There was another child James Bland b 1844. I note that Mary Ann and William used the same names for some of their children.

Thank you so very much Maureen I think all of the information that you wonderful people have given me will keep me quiet for the near future. I have worked hard on finding the Hicks family history and got stuck but hopefully I can now put the pieces of the puzzle together.

Thanks for the 1861 Ozzbird. Been searching for ages. Must remember the little asterisk. Will keep going for now.

I thought that was the marriage Maureen NY but doesn't fit with BC of father John a shoemaker. Wonder if the bc is the wrong William.

And then the following one you can see a lot of family members (and witnesses!).

I think William Hammersley is actually 75.

Hannah goes on to marry Charles Wyatt and George H Hicks and Catherine Thomson are witnesses.

Can't quite figure out who Jane Hicks is???

And still can't find young William !!
