But there are two census records for 1851 one with Caroline and one with Ann.

I'm still wondering if naughty Jeremiah was transported which is why his death is not listed? Apologies i was out all day yesterday and have only just got to logging on, will check all the posts and reply etc THANK YOU SOOOOOOOO MUCH for all the help xxxxxxx

Gee Report 5 Sep 2013 08:23

The problem is Helen, we can't find a death for either of the 'two' Jer*

I've checked Oz records, transportation and deaths and nothing seems to coming up. I guess your man could have died at sea

Do you know what happened to his cousin?

Mary

Mary Report 5 Sep 2013 08:50

What about the other one born @ 1825 in prison 1851 in West ham what happened to him and was he also in the same family.

there is only 1 death showing on free BMD March qtr 1879 ref 2c 289 age 68 Reading, can anyone else see any further details eg burial etc? the age is a bit out but depends who registered it as to whether they would know his actual age. Is there a prison in reading?

There was a Reading Prison....not sure if it closed recently.
Been looking for a transportation.......so far no luck.

Looks like you might have found his death..........but without proof........we know what that can mean !!!

HM Prison Reading, formerly known as Reading Gaol, is a prison located in Reading, Berkshire, England. The prison is operated by Her Majesty's Prison Service.

HM Prison Reading was built in 1844 as the Berkshire County Gaol in the heart of Reading, Berkshire on the site of the former county prison, alongside the site of Reading Abbey and beside the River Kennet.

This is doing my head in.
Ann York of Napoleon Place Bermondsey buried 15/1/1866.

Caroline York of 49,Old Nichol street buried same place 24/10/1871.(Widow on 1871) at Old Nichol Street.

William York married 1872 address 59,Old Nichol Street dad Jeremiah, William married Hannah Griffiths.
Yet it is said that William is son of Jeremiah and Ann!!

Caroline and Jeremiah are supposed to be parents of Ann Meridith York yet Jeremiah and Ann had her baptised.
1861 no Ann with Jeremiah and Ann but there is one with Jeremiah and Caroline!
