Often the additional info on the CWGC site re: family is done years later so it could be that at the time of George Small's death they were not yet in Canada.

The George Smail Thomson in the WW1 death record I posted earlier must be the right one.
It's highly unlikely that there would have been two George Smail Thomsons born in Larkhall about the same time.

Re Scots in the Northumberland Fusiliers:

But in any case he was originally in the AOC, having joined up in Leith, Edinburgh.
(Leigh will be a mistranscription of Leith.)
Perhaps he transferred later in order to be with friends, or maybe the Army transferred him for some reason.

Thought I would use this thread rather than start a brand new one. I have managed to find an obituary for a relative that emigrated to Canada, on the information it details the niece and nephews of her, I can't find anything for them in Scotland, can anyone find anything for them in Canada
