Member Since: January 2013 Posts: 22 Send Message	Hi folks, I'm trying to find out more about farmer William Mason, having seen the 1851 census - also his widowed daughter Betsey Hodgkinson - living at Burnt Hurst, Stretton-on-Dunsmore. 	When did his daughter marry? I can't see a marriage for Betsey. She is aged 14 on the 1841 census so her marriage should be on FreeBmd

Member Since: January 2013 Posts: 22 Send Message	Thankyou all but he's a farmer on the 1851 census at Burnt Hurst (farm) Stretton-on-Dunsmore with 110 acres and 2 labourers. His daughter Betsy is then a Railway Labourer's Widow with a daughter Mary aged I year (born in Scotland). Betsy ( Betsy/Betsey Hodgkisson/Hodgkinson) then married a servant James Berry (residing with them in that census). James was my grandmother's grandfather. Nicky :-)

	On the 1841 census here are two William Masons in Stretton in Dunsmore, both farmers and born around the same time

	Perhaps Betsy never married her daughter Mary's father and just used the surname of "Hedgekinson" on the 1851 census to "Save Face" I see she later married James Berry....
