Hi Shell.
I don't think there are any online electoral register searches for this area.
Assuming this is the case, you can only search by address, and would need to visit the relevant archives to do so - or ask the staff to assist, which might incur a charge.
Also note there were no registers kept during WW2.
What sort of info are you trying to obtain?

jax

jax Report 24 Nov 2014 19:38

She could have died anywhere then

Also whoever registered the death may not have the correct details for her including her age

Sheil

Sheil Report 24 Nov 2014 19:50

Thing is Mary Jane Lee was such a common name in those days. It is a big mystery what happened to her, the last address I have for her is 84 Balfour Road, Portsmouth 1939

Gwyn in Kent

Do you know why she moved to Portsmouth after her husband died?
Was it to be near family?

Was there perhaps a married daughter ( or son) living elsewhere in the country who Mary might have gone to live with, when the bombing got too much in Portsmouth.
It was a prime target in wartime.

Could she have remarried?

Gwyn

Wales was much safer at that time.
Have you looked for a death in that area.?

I have but D.O.B didn't quite match

Sheil

Sheil Report 24 Nov 2014 20:30

Remarriage is a possibility but she would have been getting on a bit in the 1940's

Gwyn in Kent

Gwyn in Kent Report 24 Nov 2014 20:43

What record do you have for her being in Balfour Road in 1939?
Is it an electoral list?

Was she with family?
