TerryL.....This is George Cinnamond 1881 Census...Don't know who was responsible for transcribing but they need to get their Geography correct !!
Wonder what original looks like...?

RG115028/45
Page 5

William Street South Shields....

John Garaig Head M 26 Glasgow, Scotland
Ann Cinnanno Garaig Wife F 26 Hebbn, Durham, England
Jessy Garaig Daughter F 2 Hebbn, Durham, England
Catherin Garaig Daughter F 3 M Hebbn, Durham, England
William Cinnannod Boarder M 21 Glasgow, England
*** George Cinnanno Boarder M 18 Glasgow, England ***

Glasgow England..!!!!!
Ann's place of birth was not Hebburn but Glasgow

The above should read John CRAIG..he married George's elder sister Anne in Govan 18 July 1873.
There was a son John born to the couple in 1874 (Govan) he may have died as he is not on the Census ....
William was also a brother to George and the men were shipyard workers at the time of the Census.

TerryL....The Cinnamon/d Surname is interesting as it was few and far between during the time in question and probably all belonging to the same or extended family... Surname originates mainly in the Co Down and Antrim with some showing for the Co Cavan.

Eringobragh1916 Report 1 Apr 2016 19:16

TerryL...I have not come across that site before but whoever/whatever it is does marry up with what I found relating to George Cinnamond b Tradeston and parents appear to be Thomas Cinnamond and Margaret Morrison.
Thomas and Margaret married 9 June 1852 in Barony Lanarkshire
Interestingly found a "male" child born to them in Bangor Co Down 1872.

Name Cinnamond
Gender Male
Christening Place BANGOR, DOWN, IRE
Birth Date 31 Aug 1872
Birthplace Bangor, Down, Ire
Father's Name Thomas Cinnamond
Mother's Name Margaret Morrison

Can find no other children b Co Down before/after to this couple...

1881 Scottish Census would be worth checking out

All theother info would be verifiable/not with access to Scotlands People.

Hi,everybody.Regarding the PHILIP family.

.I came across a birth for William Philip on 22/11/1846 at Kirriemuir,Forfar,Angus.Parents given as Alexander Philip and Mary Carnegie
.
I also found a marriage for William Philip to a Mary Falconer at St.Cyrus
Kinkardine,on 03/06/1870.

The family are also shown in 1871,1881 and 1891 Scottish Censuses.

Nothing proven as yet but dates and birth places seem to correspond, pretty much.
Now I need info on Mary Carnegie and Mary Falconer. Any help greatly appreciated.
Regards,Terry L.

Hi, I've just put in my Grandfather's name in to google and it came up with your thread. I hope this helps but he was John Herbert Dunne. He died in 1976 and my father, his only son John Michael Dunne is still alive and living in Peterborough. Dad is 75. He has given me an old photo album of his father's when he was in the RAF travelling around the middle east which is interesting and I think there may be photos of his Grandparents in there too and maybe other relatives, I will have to have a closer look. Anyway James Aloysius Dunne was a headmaster at a Roman Catholic school in Glasgow and apparently helped to set up Celtic Football Club. My Grandfather ended up living in Oswestry, Shropshire as he worked at the hospital there and is buried with my Grandmother in Shrewsbury Crematorium.

Hi Terry.
As the last member of the Dunne line (son of John Herbert - aka Jack), I can indeed confirm that my grandfather was born in India. Unfortunately I don't know any more about that. As a schoolmaster in Glasgow he also ran a football team that eventually became known as Celtic United.
