Ok Mary thanks.
Hadn't realised that he had given his daughter exactly the same name as his first wife, a bit unusal to give her all three names.

Look for her birth on freebmd to find MMN. Then look for marriage of parents to find mother’s forename

Susan -

you've already been given Ivy's birth record.

Copying it here again:

Births Mar 1934 (>99%)
Turner Ivy G (mms Beck) W.Ham 4a 68

So her mother was Emily Beck.

Oswald & Emily's marriage (also already given on page 2 of this thread):

Name: Oswald Turner
Date of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar 1930
Registration district: West Ham
Inferred County: Essex
Spouse: Emily H Beck
Volume Number: 4a
Page Number: 480

Susan has started another thread about Ivy today.
I've advised her to stick to this one.

Copying her post from her new thread:

just found out the facts ivy grace shepherd born 18th march 1934 died 26th dec 2014 married Charles shepherd June 1954 was her father Oswald turner and who was mother and did she have any children

Susan -

you can search for possible children here, by entering Ivy's married name and maiden name in the relevant boxes in "Births" section.:

https://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl

There are lots of Shepherd/Turner births from 1954 onwards, in various places. You'll have to narrow it down by where Ivy and her husband might have been living, if you have any idea of that.

They married in Stepney.
If they remained in the London area, there are a couple of possible births -
Colin in 1960 - in Woolwich.
Then there were two in 1963 - they can't both be Ivy's children, of course.
One was in Woolwich (Beverley) and one in St Pancras (Hilary).

I'm not posting full details here, as they are probably still alive.

You would have to buy copies of their birth certificates to know definitely if they were children of Ivy and Charles or not.

Would a copy of her will not indicate if she had children? Would it not be a bit unusual to find merit from an Aunt or Grandaunt if she had surviving children?
