Wow thank you all so much for finding the above, Well it seems Frederick Charles looking at the information never married Daisy Richardson , she was obviously not with him, yet all his 4 children took his name, how strange. Still none the wiser who exactly Daisy Richardson is so unable to go down her line. I really appreciate your help. Beginning to think Ancestry is not all that good for finding information. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas

Goodness Chis the marriage you found of Daisy Elliot has amazed me, I am doing the tree for a friend. I see she lived at 8 Cross Lane Gravesed, that's the 1st house my wife and I bought

ArgyllGran Report 24 Dec 2016 18:46

It's a very small world!

Lack of info is not necessarily the fault of Ancestry, John.

People didn't necessarily put correct info in censuses and other records.

Re Joan Lear, married woman in 1939 register - I can't see a likely marriage anywhere, 1920 - 39

John

John Report 24 Dec 2016 20:36

I think I am getting to grips with things. Frederick Charles Lear, was the father of William Frederick born 1907, who was the father of my friend. The mother of William Frederick being Daisy Richardson or Daisy Richards. In 1911 Daisy and 2 living sons living as boarders with Albert and Ann Brooks .Daisy married William Cole in 1916 he died in 1918 and then Daisy married William Elliott her next door neighbour in Cross Lane Gravesend in 1919 with Albert and Ann Brooks being the witnesses. Joan Lear living with Daisy and William Elliott was the wife of Daisy's son Harry Ernest Lear, making her Daisy's daughter in law. Wow just about got there. Looking at the other findings, it looks like Daisy Richardson must be Daisy Richards, wonder why she never married Frederick Charles Lear even though they had 4 children together, or was her name not Richards by birth, was she married before. If they seperated in those days, would they class themselves as being single. Cant believe the findings our 2 children were both born in 8 Cross Lane and my friend being my daughters god father,he is going to be shocked that his grandmother lived in the same house.

John

John Report 24 Dec 2016 20:43

Studying the info again saw it states when Daisy married her 2nd husband William Elliott her father was down as William Richardson so her name must be Richardson and not Richards.

ArgyllGran Report 24 Dec 2016 21:06

The name Richardson only comes into it after 1901.
Up to that point Daisy and all her family are Richards in all the censuses and births.

So it looks as if the family (or maybe just Daisy) decided to become Richardson at some point 1901-1904, when the first Lear / Richardson child was born.

Daisy, and her brother Harry are still Richards in 1901, and Lucy died as Richards in 1900.

This looks like Harry's death, still as Richards:

Harry Richards
in the England & Wales, Civil Registration Death Index, 1837-1915
Name: Harry Richards
Estimated birth year: abt 1886
Registration Year: 1905
Registration Quarter: Apr-May-Jun
Age at Death: 19
Registration district: Croydon
Inferred County: Surrey
Volume: 2a
Page: 171

EDIT:
In the same quarter of 1905, Daisy named her son Harry after him.
