RG is right, I couldn't see her birth in Scotland so searched the GRO and found a match:

KELLEY, BERTHA ELLA (Mother's maiden name: ROSS)
GRO Reference: 1899 D Quarter in MIDDLESBROUGH Volume 09D Page 631
----------------------------------------------

and then found her baptism (from FMP) and index to parent's marriage:

Baptism:
First name(s) Bertha Ella
Last name Kelley
Baptism year 1899
Baptism date 15 Nov 1899
Baptism place Thornaby
Denomination Anglican
Father's first name(s) Henry
Mother's first name(s) Pauline
County Yorkshire (North Riding)

Looks like a possible daughter born to Charles and Bertha in 1936 (Ella- she married surname Fraser 1956)

Details a little sketchy as she appears to be still living (Edinburgh)

Austin Q - thanx. Indeed there was an Ella born to Charles & Bertha.
I also had found out about Charles Flood going to Australia in 1923 to visit his sister Louisa Flood Cook who was my grandmother. She died in 1924.
I'm impressed how you can find all that out.
Tell me what does GRO and FMP stand for?

Rootgatherer - thanx for info. I'm amazed at how much you can find out. If I get on scotlandspeople or genesreunited it costs me! I can't imagine you'd be paying for anything on my behalf, so how do you do it?

GRO please....

GRO- General Register Office

You can register for free and search the indexes. It is useful to use to find mother's maiden names of registered births before 1911.

https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/
------------------------------------

I don't think many of us use Genesreunited to access records- most of us have subscriptions for Ancestry or Find My Past.

Whilst you can't view most original records for free on Scotland's People, there is a knack to using the free search facility to access as much information as you can without using credits.

Extending the search to other Camerons in the same household in 1911 (Surname Cameron, in District St Andrews) we can see by the reference number the other Camerons living with Thomas:

Helpers are quite happy to use their subs to FindMyPast, Ancestry or indeed any site they have a sub for to help others with their research. Some even use a few credits for Scotlandspeople to help others if it's a one off.
