I don’t think there’s any way I can find the answer to this question because it’s after 1911 and before 1939 but I’ll ask anyway....

I know when Florence and Albert married in 1914 they lived in Bristol. Florence died in 1924 but I don’t know where in Bristol she lived and died.

I just wondered if there’s any way to find out if Albert and Florence and then Albert and the girls lived in the same part of Bristol as this Mrs Hillier?

If there was a way to find that out it would totally confirm these are the right people.

Is it possible to find out any way?

If florence died at home?......her address should be recorded on the death certificate.

If Sonia was born at home?......the address should be recorded on her birth certificate.

That’s so brilliant. Thank you Nyx and Prickly Holly. Yes if you can send the PM that would be great Nyx. I’m assuming that Albert was in the airforce during the 1st World War. That’s amazing you found that out as well as where they lived in Bristol and the adverts. I don’t know where you found them. I don’t have much success with finding newspaper references. Thanks again

Another question about his RAF attestation paper for anyone military minded....was he a clerk or a pilot?
And how long was he in the RAF?
It mentions his marriage and 1919 he was in the reserves if you can be a reserve clerk?? And then 1920 I think he was discharged but the typing is overwritten.

Rambling Report 12 Mar 2018 11:21

I would say from the info top right on the image and ( his age) that he was a clerk , joined 10/7/18 and transferred to reserve 13/3/19 so I would guess that was not long enough to train as a pilot even if that had been intended, given the was was over.

"Enrolled Clerk 3 10/7/18"
"Reclassified Clerk 2 /31/10/18"
"Clerk 1 30/11/18 "
"Deemed Discharged" 30/4/1920 ."

There's a list of RAF ranks for the admin staff on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAF_other_ranks
