Hi
As I'm not getting any further with William born 1807 i decided to have another look at William born 1835/36 in Warrington my Gt Gt grandfather. He married Sarah Ann born 1836 Warrington. They had Elizabeth born about 1858,,James born about 1860 my Gt grandfather both in Warrington. It appears he then came to live in Brierley Hill, Staffordshire just after James was born. They then had daughter's Elizabeth born 1862 second fole, Alice born 1864 Birmingham, Eliza born 1868 Wordsley and Emily born 1871 kingswinford . Unfortunately I cannot find birth certificates for any of them to find their mothers maiden name. Any ideas please

Hi
I have been checking all information and I've found an Elizabeth Taylor born 1808 and a brother William born 1806 could he be the witness on her marriage certificate. But their parents are William and Elizabeth. I found a marriage in 1805 for a William and Elizabeth Taylor. Are they marrying cousins. I have looked back on William born c 1807 and I've found a baptism for a William in rostherne cheshire and a marriage for a William and Margaret also Rostherne in 1807.
I don't know where else to look.

Yes have checked the baptisms you posted. I think Anne,Ann, James (well one of them) and john may have died ask don't have them on the census record's i have.
Any ideas how I can find out who William and Elizabeth parents are as marriage record doesn't say.Really stuck on this now.

Wendy

I need to find out how I can prove this as the marriage record doesn't say who parents are.

Thanks for sending me all this info which i have been ploughing through.I have looked for John, Anne and Ann Taylor as obviously they dont appear on the census records i have. I have found an Anne born 1833 and died 1839 so that could be her. John born 1846 died j/f/m quarter in 1851 so that is probably why he isnt on 1851 census also. Ann born 1837 i cant find at all. I am sending for a birth certificate for either James or Jane to find out who her mother was. I have found a marriage to an Elizabeth Worth in 1824 but it would be touch and go if she was old enough to be married, although my Elizabeth's birth seems to differ on each document. Thanks everyone for your help

Thanks for the help. Yes I'm wondering if indeed Elizabeth Boyer is my Williams wife. I need to order a birth certificate to check this. But I suppose they may not have married before Elizabeth's birth.

And, of course, the births posted by PricklyHolly from the GRO records which match the census info have MMN Taylor

I believe Elizabeth's maiden name is Bowyer but I'm not 100% sure. I did wonder if she was Elizabeth's mother and just put Taylor by mistake. The William I found born 1807 had a father called William but I can't prove it.

PricklyHolly

PricklyHolly Report 26 Feb 2018 09:06

I think the Grandmother Margaret is actually the children's Grandmother......born 1789 so too young to be William's Grandmother.

She is only 18 years older than William.

Do you know the wife Elizabeth's maiden name?

Might it also be Taylor??
