Its interesting that in the newspaper it says that Frank and his wife were there (uncle and aunt) but then only Robert (uncle) no Annie.

(perhaps it was too upsetting for her, not long since they had lost their Daughter Ellen)

Chris :)

(Uncle Frank, I presume!)

Thanks everyone this is great. Ive just googled the addresses and they're all a few streets from each other. Looks like 4 and 5 Dumfires Street had webbers in them for over 80 years, amazing.

I know we didnt crack the son in law case but great information from you thank you very much.

Hmm that’s confusing, it says Alice is widowed and Alice M Billingham (Webber) who I assume is Maud Webber as the birth year is right. Maud and Edna never married and lived together at 5 Dumfries Street till they died.

Are you sure with what you say???

The way that name is written indicates that Alice M WEBBER was not married in 1939, but that she married later, as the 1939 Register formed the basis of the NHS when that was brought in in 1947 .................... entries were all updated regarding deaths and marriages for women during the war from 1939 to 1945 and then by the NHS between 1947 and 1991. So the whole indication is that Alice M married a Mr Billingham sometime after 1939!

She married in 1940 ..... if Alice M is indeed the one you knew as Maud!

:-0 No Way!!

Ive just looked through the death certificates i have and i have Josephs, Alices, Bessie, Edna but no Maud....

Why do families keep secrets?!

My mother was born in 1954 and she remembers every year going to visit Maud and Edna and their father at 5 Dumfries St. She was always really close with her grandmother and her great Great Aunts but she was never told about her other great aunt who had died or that Maud was married. I wonder what other secrets they had.
