I found a marriage for a Albert G Smith to a Dorothy M Salkeld in 1934 at Plantagenent (near Albany) in Western Australia

Also found a death for a Albert George Smith in 1961 at Swan District Perth,with parents William J & Elizabeth Buried Midland Cemetery Presbyterian Section B Grave 0015

Re William John 1888 -

the tree on Ancestry has a scan of his death notice in a newspaper - the "Herald" [?]


Smith, William John - July 6 1959, at hospital, late of 12 Fullford Street, Dundas, also late of Binnaway, dearly beloved husband of Gladys May Smith, and loving father of Gwendolin (Mrs Phillips), David George, Maisie Joan (Mrs Hutchinson), and Alan Douglas, aged 71 years. At rest. See Wednesday's "Herald" for funeral particulars.


Funeral notice:

The relatives and friends of the late William John Smith of 12 Fullford Street, Dundas, are invited to attend his Funeral: to leave the Chapel of Motor Funerals Ltd, 4 East Parade, Eastwood, at 2.45 o'clock for the Rookwood Crematorium.

I don't see David after 1891 - but don't see his death either, at least not in Hampshire.

Re the son William John 1888 -

A tree on Ancestry says he married and died in Australia -

Married Gladys May Fitzpatrick in Newtown, NSW, 15 April 1914.
Died 6 July 1959, Dundas, NSW.
Four children: Gwendoline May, David George, Maisie Joan, and Alan Douglas.

Am very grateful for the information you have found so far!! Would have struggled to find a lot of this stuff......

Does anyone know what happened to either William John Smith & his father David Smith??

For reference - I descend from Jane Tizard Chiveralls & Albert Richard Smith (my great grandparents!).

Elizabeth Chiveralls is 1/2 sister to Jane Chiveralls. Their father married twice. Elizabeth is from the 1st marriage, Jane from the 2nd. Half sisters leading to half cousins etc...........

Alice is with them 1901/1911.
