Hi
I have Arthur Palmer..He was born 0n 13th April 1902 and Baptised on 7th may 1902. His parents were Jabez Palmer and mary jane Palmer.
I can't seem to track him down.I've checked the War Graves Commission sight for both WW1 & WW11.But no sign of a death for him there.
I've scrolled down all the Death's on FreeBmd and NONE match his birth details :-(
He is on the 1911 census (age 9) in salford in Lancashire with his parents and sister Ada (age 11)

As I suggested on the thread about ADA, the father's Will may provide clues

I believe the current charge for a copy is £10.00

Regarding WILLS... If you get them sent by PDF they are £6

Kucinta Report 13 Oct 2018 22:53

I didn't realise you could get pdfs of wills for £6, I thought it was just birth, marriage and death certificates.

Kucinta is right assumption, you can't get a PDF for £6, that's only some BMDs. The will and probate can be provided online but not for a reduced cost.

If you've managed to get one for £6 could you post how to do it please as I often need to get them, and any little helps!

I don't think that marriage certs are part of the PDF system on GRO - but am willing to be corrected

There certainly isn't an option to search for marriages.....................

GRO has been piloting a service providing PDF copies of historical birth and death records. The pilot, originally extended to July 2018, has now been extended further to continue to assess longer term demand and there is no planned end date at this time. Further communications will be provided in due course.

Applications for PDF’s cost £6, must be made online and include a GRO index reference. England and Wales records available in this extended pilot include:

Births: 1837 –1917
Deaths: 1837 –1957

There is only ONE death in Preston district for Arthur Palmer

Look for it on freebmd............no need to use a site for which one has to pay

lancashireAnn

lancashireAnn Report 18 Oct 2018 13:52

just because he is not in the 1939 register does not mean he had died. If he was already in one of the services he would not be listed on there

lancashireAnn

lancashireAnn Report 18 Oct 2018 13:59

unfortunately on the crew list for that naval death I posted Arthur is one of the few that does not have an age listed
