Received the birth certificate today Gladys Victoria Smith had parents William Smith & Elizabeth Upton

So it would seem the surname has been misheard / spelt on different records

At least you know the dads name and mums Christian name and the marriage for them

Argyl too posted the 1911 census where mum is living with Patrick burns as his wife

Their daughters birth Though is odd with mmn as houghton

BUT !! They had more children

Thanks everyone for helping with William & Elizabeth's family, I definately had the wrong parents for Gladys Victoria Smith.
I have been trying to find parents for William Smith born abt 1865 died 1903.
I have looked on the 1881 census for a William Smith Cattle Drover from 1863-1867 birth with no luck perhaps he was not a Cattle Drover in 1881? a difficult name to research so many
