Appreciate any help please on Samuel Gorvan, I have got his marriage and children but Samuel was born 1883 in India and think his parents are Samuel and Mary Gorvan ,think a possibility they may have originated from Ireland, Kerry or Trelee, other than that unable to find them. Many thanks

Yes think it's him because Hartley is near Gravesend and area ,where he lived with with wife Rose and family. There was a Barracks in Gravesend at one stage but obviously he must have been working on the land because Hartly is rural

On the service records it gives mother Mary living at Asbestos( ?) cottage Hartley nr Fawkham kent ( "no brothers")

Also has his marriage and children on same service record to confirm.

Catherine ,looks like on the 1911, census that is their daughter Rose Lillian nee Brigden married to Samuel Gorvan.

Just spotted on a post on here , that in 1911 Samuel Gorvan was living in Cobham Kent , His eldest daughter was born in Deptford April 1911 so his wife Rose must have gone home to her parents for the delivery. That confirms to me why I couldn't find Rose in Cobham in 1911. Thanks.
