Annie/Anna Beattie.

Note spelling - not Bettie.

The marriage record has been posted twice on this thread, and also on your other threads.

Also the children's birth records have been posted more than once, showing their mother's surname as Beattie.

Possibly Agnes Nicol White's death ?? You'd have to buy the cert to be sure.

[ If this is her death, then she didn't die in Kent, as you thought. And indeed there's no sign of her death in Kent in 1941.]

Agnes N White
in the England & Wales, Civil Registration Death Index, 1916-2007
Name: Agnes N White
Death Age: 63
Birth Date: abt 1878
Registration Date: Jul 1941
[Aug 1941]
[Sep 1941]
Registration Quarter: Jul-Aug-Sep
Registration district: Westmorland South
Inferred County: Westmorland
Volume: 10b
Page: 1390

and possibly in 1939??

Agnes N White
in the 1939 England and Wales Register
Name: Agnes N White
Gender: Female
Marital status: Single
Birth Date: 25 May 1877
Residence Year: 1939
Address: 3 Foxgrove Lane
Residence Place: Felixstowe, Suffolk, England
Occupation: Private Means
Schedule Number: 127
Sub Schedule Number: 1
Enumeration District: TWEB
Registration district: 214/1
Household Members:
Name
Agnes N White

Please note: the above already posted on one of your other threads. Have you read the other thread's replies carefully?

Her Probate is posted on one of them, with her address at death as KENTdale Nursing Home, KENT Terrace, Kendal, Westmorland

Not in Kent!

If this is Annie's birth, then yes, those are her parents.

ANNA CATANACH
DAVID BEATTIE/MARGARET NICOL FR2849 (FR2849)
F

This looks like her in 1871:

Anna C Beattie
in the 1871 Scotland Census
Name: Anna C Beattie
Age: 21
Estimated birth year: abt 1850
Relationship: Niece
Gender: Female
Where born: Montrose, Forfarshire
Registration Number: 312
Registration district: Montrose
Civil Parish: Montrose
County: Angus
Address: 16 High St
ED: 3
Household schedule number: 50
Line: 3
Roll: CSSCT1871_58
Household Members:
Name Age
James Selby 43
Agnes Selby 40
Anna C Beattie 21
Elizabeth Buick 17

Marriage of her uncle and aunt:

James Selby
in the Scotland, Select Marriages, 1561-1910
Name: James Selby
Gender: Male
Marriage Date: 8 Nov 1854

So IF that's the correct Annie, that explains the Selby and Nicol names.

Have you done any research yourself? Or are you relying solely on what you’re told’?

Did you look at the site for which I posted the link? Any thoughts on the info?

Good day fellow researcher. You all have been most helpful but I am now in a state of total confusion. I was in the understanding that David White, born Forfarshire 13/6/1845 and died Islington 21/3/1916 married a Annie Catenach Bettie, born around 1849 and died December 1901 in Islington. They married 25/10/1871 in Montrose.
They had two offspring. James Selby White, born in the June quarter 1873 in Islington and died 9/5/1929 in Felixstowe. The other offspring was Agnes( Nicol added later) Selby White, born 25/5/1877 and died 30/6/1941 in Kent..

Now comes my confusion. I have heard from another source that david may have married a Agnes Selby, hense the Selby names in the offsrings names. In the 1881 census it states that David White as head, Annie White as wife Jamse S White as son and AgnesL White as daughter. They also had a visiter James Selbyas a visitor. Again the Selby name.

Can anyone help me sort out this problem. I have looked on Scotish People but can find no marriage for David White at all. By the way Davids parents were Thomas White and I believe Annie Bettie's parents were David Bettie and Margaret Nicol. This may explain the Nicol name added later into Agnes's name.

Sorry about the length of this posting but I hope someone can help me sort out this confusion.

Roy Horwell, New Zealand.

No problem ErikaH. It's just a little unusual for marriages only to show the initial letter of the Christian name and not even a diminutive form of the name. Makes it more difficult when searching the indexes.

Regarding omissions on Scotlandspeople, from personal experience, I do that they exist.

As for no-ones perfect, I've spent 60 years looking for Mr. Perfect. I'll have to give up and n that one now lol :-)
