Could anybody down under tell me the names of the parents of Professor Howard Worner born 1913. His parents originated in Somerset England - or maybe just his father came from Somerset and married an Australian Lady when he arrived down under. and I am trying to trace which branch of the Worner family he descended from. Thanks in anticipation

There's lots about him online - though no parents names.
He had a brother Neil, and another brother, unnamed;

"You were born in 1913 at Swan Hill, in the Mallee district of Victoria. Your father was a farmer, wasn't he?

He was. All the way back that I can trace, on the male side there were farmers in Somerset and on my great-grandmother's side there were farmers' wives in southern Scotland."

I cant find anybody called Jno Worner on either of teh two census reports from 1911 and 1901. Seems a strange abbreviation for John.
