I note two closed records on that 1939 - there are two births in Chester which would tally. Both boys

Maybe FMP is more up to date, as is often the case.

Richard A and John V can't both be the same family

There was another Jarvis/Williams marriage, in Birkenhead in 1925.
John V will be their son, I think.
Looking at the other couple (Sidney and Florence) in 1939, there are three closed records with them, one born in 1926 - just enough shows to see that.
There are three Birkenhead Jarvis/Williams births 1925- 1939 - of which John V is one.

When you edited your opening post, you added the statement that Arthur was in the Navy.
Do you have documentary evidence of that?

If so, Arthur James may not be the same man. He was in the Cheshire Yeomanry in 1939 - a cavalry regiment.



There's an Arthur J Jarvis [ Arthur John Jarvis ] on the UK Navy Lists in the 1940's, 1950s and 1960s, but he was born in 1901, lived in Padstow, Cornwall, married Ivy Alexandra Ridd in 1926, and died in Cornwall in 1988.
Ivy also died in Cornwall, 1978.

You need to buy a copy of his & Ruby's marriage cert, for the info on that.

As mentioned before, we need to know his age, middle name, occupation, address, and father's name .

Otherwise, we're just guessing at random. There are lots of Arthur J Jarvises.
