Oh dear, they made the papers for the wrong reason.

At the Elgin Sheriff Criminal Court on Tuesday,salmon fisher William Mackenzie , Burghead, and his wife Elspet Robb or Mackenzie, were charged with assaulting John Robb and his wife, Margaret Suter or Robb at Burghead on the 12th? inst. Robb is father of the female accused. The accused pleaded guilty, and Mr Stewart who appeared for them, stated that the quarrel rose over a boat which was partly owned by Robb and partly by Mackenzie. Mackenzie wished to take up his share and a quarrel arose between him and his father in law, in the course of the alleged assault was committed. The Sheriff imposed a fine of 10s or 6 days upon each of the accused and the fines were paid.
